Study for Leda and the swan

Red chalk heightened with white
340 x 255mm
Inscribed lower right: C. Natoire
Circa 1730 to 1735

This sheet is a preparatory study for the painting Leda and the swan, now at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Troyes.

In their well-appointed premises on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Didier and Hervé Aaron have expanded three departments for paintings, furniture and interior decoration.

In order to reinforce a long tradition of dealing in works on paper, a dedicated room has been created, in which international collectors, as well as museum curators, are received. Although the eighteenth century French period has always been the object of special attention, the interest given to nineteenth century works and to the Italian and Northern schools has continued to grow over the past few years.

The gallery has branches in London and New York and participates at the Biennale des Antiquaires, the Fine Art Fair in New York and TEFAF Maastricht.
