The Galerie Berès was founded by Huguette Berès in 1951 and is now run by Anisabelle Berès, her daughter. Its twin focus has been, from Day One, on the graphic arts from the Far East and the European avant-garde movements in 19th and 20th centuries. European art is exhibited at 25 quai Voltaire 75007 Paris, and Japanese Art is presented 35 rue de Beaune 75007 Paris.
Known as an Art enthusiast Anisabelle Berès is trying to find and show major works done between 1900 and 1960 by European artists. Starting with Nabis luminaries as Bonnard, Vuillard and Denis, the gallery is now focused on modern movements from the 20th century like the Cubist trend: Works of art from Picasso, Gris, Braque, Laurens, Lipchitz, Herbin and Gleizes are now exhibiting.
The last exhibition intending the gallery was dedicated to the scupltor Henri Laurens 1885 – 1947.
With intend to show the high quality of the XXe century, the gallery covers also the Abstract trends with masters like Vieira da Silva, de Staël, Torres-Garcia, Miro and Leger and contemporary artists like Soulages, Poncet and Lesieur to who will be devoted a personal exhibition next November 2005 for 2 months.
The Galerie Berès participates in numerous prestigious arts fairs around the world : the Paris Biennale, The European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht, The International Fine Art Fair in New York.
