Musée Jacquemart-André
A private visit of the Dessins Chennevières will be organized during the Semaine du Dessin. Schedule to follow
Faithful friend of Philippe de Chennevières, Edouard André had not missed to follow the acquisitions of this great collector of French drawings.
It is probably the reason why Nélie Jacquemart went buyer of about fifteen sheets, on the occasion of sales organized in 1898 and 1900 by this last one when he decided to scatter this collection.
At this moment Nélie Jacquemart settles them in the cabinetwhich adjoins Edouard André's bedroom as a moving testimony of this friendship disappeared in the death of her husband.
For reasons of good conservation, the capital of the collection Chennevières is not presented to the public, but on the occasion of the Salon du Dessin, they will be shown in the of the office of the curator on March 25th at 3:30 pm.
This set includes prestigious sheets of Watteau, Butcher, Lancret and Pater.
