The Salon du Dessin in numbers: Visited by 11,800 people in 2009 (an increase of more than 12% compared to the previous year), the Salon du Dessin is proud to appeal to a wide audience, varied in age and profession. A survey carried out during the 2009 Salon on 250 visitors shows a balanced breakdown: 32% of them were less than 30 years old, 36% were between 30 to 60 years old and 32% were more than 60 years old. Among these visitors, 47% were employed, 28% were retired and 25% were students.The Salon du Dessin’s reputation is so firmly rooted in the Parisian art market that 32% of the visitors came because of word of mouth. More than a fair, more than a museum, the Salon du Dessin is a unique occasion for all art lovers, experienced or not, to share their passion with art dealers and academics. Once more this year the Salon du Dessin will be synonymous with new discoveries and major works eyed by the most prestigious museums. And let’s not forget purely and simply the emotion felt in front of the beauty of a sketch.
